Reading daily with your child is the most important thing you can do to support them. Showing your child that you are passionate about reading will inspire them, every child wants to be just like their grown ups! Read books over and over again so your child can internalise the story. This will help them when they become writers later on, as they will have a bank of ideas and vocabulary to help them with their writing when they are at this stage.
Whilst we are away from school It is important to read with your child at different points in the day, not just once. There are also a couple of websites that are offering free ebooks.
Epic- Epic has lots of books to share with your child. I have created a class group. Just get the app or visit the website and sign in using the code on seesaw activities.
Oxford Owl- The stage books which we use at school are available in an ebook version. You just need to register as a parent.
Audible- are offering free audio books for children, find somewhere comfy and listen to a book together.
Vooks- these bring stories alive, check them out.
If you have any problems with accessing either of these, just send me a message on seesaw and I will try my best to help.
