Thank you for visiting our class page. Here you can find information about the class.

Home Learning

Each day, three main lessons will be uploaded to Google Classroom: usually mathematics, English and a lesson in another subject. It is essential that children access these lessons. The content will be built upon and will not be covered again. If children miss this learning then they will fall behind and be left with gaps in their learning. Children need to be able to access Google Classroom to take part in this; if you do not have a device or Internet access, please contact Mr Williams as soon as possible. If you need a reminder of your child's log in information, then please contact me or Mr Williams.

In addition, to the main lessons, other activities will be posted that children should engage with. These will include physical activity, spelling, handwriting, mental maths and everyday Welsh. I will also post optional activities, links or suggestions that children can take part in if they wish, but there will be no obligation. It is also very important for children to continue with reading at home. Please remember that children are able to access an enormous range of books through Epic and Oxford Owl. Links to these are given further down this page.

I am really enjoying seeing the children's work on Google Classroom and am so pleased with their hard work.

Take care and stay safe,

Mr Barnes

Outdoor Learning

PE and Outdoor Learning

Children will take part in PE lessons each Tuesday and Friday. At present, children are not to bring a PE kit to school to change into. Instead, they should have suitable clothes and footwear for outdoors and physical activity each day.

Outdoor learning sessions will take place frequently; you will be advised when our class has outdoor learning. Depending on the weather, children may need to bring additional layers of clothing and footwear for this.

Homework

At times, homework will be set on Google Classroom. The purpose of homework is to support or reinforce class learning. The most effective type of homework children should be undertaking at home is regular practice of reading and multiplication facts. Regular practice  of both will support children's learning more than anything else, even for those who are already very proficient. It is expected that children read regularly at home: at least five separate occasions each week. In addition, children need regular practice of multiplication facts through games, reciting, quizzes and access to TT Rockstars. More information about TT Rockstars and logging reading using Google Clasroom is given below.

Reading Record - Google Classroom

View the video to see how you can log your reading using Google Classroom. Once children are logged in to Google Classroom, they will be able to keep a record of their reading on any device that accesses the Internet.

Each reading session that is logged will be added to a spreadsheet which will be shared with parents via email for an overview of reading.

TT Rockstars

Pupils should log in to TT Rockstars using the same log in details that they use for Hwb. These can be found on children's digital passports.

For school, type: Minera Aided Primary School

The username is the first part of the hwb email address - that is, the part before @hwbcymru.net

The password is the same as children use for Hwb and is case sensitive.
