Thank you for visiting our class page. Here you can find information about the class.
It has been a really fun week in class and I have been amazed by the quality of the children's thinking, work and presentation. Well done everyone for working so hard!
We had a science focus this week, investigating eggs as we are approaching Easter. The children have predicted and hypothesised about what would happen to an egg in vinegar, planned and carried out an investigation to find out how strong eggs are and gave scientific explanations for their findings. We finished the week with a group problem solving activity to create egg parachutes to protect falling eggs! You can see photographs clicking here.
We also looked for and explained patterns in maths and worked systematically to find all possibilities. In R.E. we thought about our Christian value, 'Forgiveness,' and wrote prayers as well as listening to the Easter story and thinking about the big question, 'Did Jesus have to die?' The children have also finalised their class improvement plans in groups and have some wonderful ideas ready to put into action after the Easter break.
I hope eveyone has a wonderful Easter break,
Mr Barnes

Free reading and writing activities from your favourite children's authors from the National Literacy Trust provided by Oak National Academy.
Children will take part in PE lessons each Tuesday and Friday. At present, children are not to bring a PE kit to school to change into. Instead, they should have suitable clothes and footwear for outdoors and physical activity each day.
Outdoor learning sessions will take place frequently; you will be advised when our class has outdoor learning. Depending on the weather, children may need to bring additional layers of clothing and footwear for this.
At times, homework will be set on Google Classroom. The purpose of homework is to support or reinforce class learning. The most effective type of homework children should be undertaking at home is regular practice of reading and multiplication facts. Regular practice of both will support children's learning more than anything else, even for those who are already very proficient. It is expected that children read regularly at home: at least five separate occasions each week. In addition, children need regular practice of multiplication facts through games, reciting, quizzes and access to TT Rockstars. More information about TT Rockstars and logging reading using Google Clasroom is given below.
Pupils should log in to TT Rockstars using the same log in details that they use for Hwb. These can be found on children's digital passports.
For school, type: Minera Aided Primary School
The username is the first part of the hwb email address - that is, the part before @hwbcymru.net
The password is the same as children use for Hwb and is case sensitive.
