Minera Voluntary Aided Primary School

November Reminders - Poppies, Shoe Boxes and Minera Remembrance Service

Dear Families,

I hope everyone has had a lovely half term holiday. November is a very busy month in school especially as we approach the Christmas period.   I have added a few reminders about what is going on in school.

Poppies for sale
This week, we will be thinking about Remembrance. On Friday 11th November, we will be observing a one-minute silence.

During the week, we will also be selling on behalf of the Royal British Legion, poppies and other items. Children will be able to purchase these during the week for a small donation.

Shoe Box Appeal
Shortly before half term, we launched our T4U Christmas Shoe Box Appeal. Many thanks to the children who have already brough in their shoe boxes.

You will be able to drop off your box at School from 7th November until 11th November.

We understand that it is a busy and expensive time of year, we hope as many of our families can support this really good cause.

Minera Community Remembrance Service - Saturday 12th November
We have been invited by the Minera Community Council to attend the annual Remembrance Service at the War Memorial in Minera on Saturday 12th November.

The order of events is as follows:

10:30am – Children meet at School (Please wear school uniform)
10.45am - Service at Minera War Memorial by the bus shelter. Readings, prayers, minute silence at 11am, laying of wreaths and crosses will take place. Children will be laying a wreath at the memorial.

As this event is taking place on a Saturday, children must be accompanied by an adult. Your presence at this event would be greatly valued. If you are able to attend, please confirm via email.
